My lessons are carefully designed step by step according to your goals and experience. We can work together whether you're starting again after a break or a complete beginner.
I believe that developing rounded musical experience and understanding is very important in the early stages and I prioritise this over taking exams. However, piano students may prepare for ABRSM or Trinity exams when it's the right moment for them.

Yes - students need regular access to either an acoustic piano or a full-size 88 key digital keyboard with touch-sensitive keys and a sustain pedal.
Acoustic pianos need regular tuning. If you're considering a digital keyboard please check with me before starting lessons.
Yes, parents or carers are required to come to piano lessons with their children and support their practice at home. Supporting your child in this way really makes all the difference to their enjoyment and progress.
Children can begin piano lessons from age 6. By this age they have generally developed the coordination and emotional skills to enjoy lessons and practice successfully.
Piano lessons are one-to-one, either in person in Tunbridge Wells or online (for continuing students).
My lessons are carefully designed step by step according to the childs needs and experience so are suitable for complete beginners. However, many of my young piano students have taken part in Colourstrings music kindergarten groups before starting piano lessons. This gives them a good musical foundation so they progress more quickly.
Children from 1 to 7 years old can join Colourstrings Music Kindergarten groups.
